Put on your walking shoes and be
ready to explore Hanoi on foot. To help you through your
quest for souvenirs and useful goods, we have selected a
number of addresses based on our knowledge of the city and
our experience. Of course, these recommendations are
subjective and we will appreciate your feedback. All your
comments will be taken into account and will be updated
continuously in our website.
We have imagined for you an itinerary that will take you to the
major shopping sites downtown, starting with the Old
Quarter.

Cau Go
and Hang Dau (near TIC), only two-minutes away from TIC, offer a large
range of budget shores and sandals of all kinds.

ST.Josept’s Cathedral
is one of the most attractive areas of the old quarter, with
its small streets and adjoining alleys (Hang Trong, Nha
Tho, Nha Chung, Au Trieu) lined with fashion and
accessories boutiques.

Hang Gai offers ready-made and tailored silk clothing, embroidery,
table cloth, along with knick-knacks and souvenirs. A
good place to visit a few art galleries.

In Luong
Van Can St, get custom-made “AO DAI” in a few days and stun your friends
back home.

Hang Quat is the place to purchase colored funeral and festival flags
and all kinds of religious objects and clothing.

Hang Bac is one of the few streets still selling the products they are
named after (“Bac” means sliver) and is lined with
silver and jewellery shops. This is also the place where
to find ethic embroideries and Vietnamese propaganda
pictures and where to rent a Minsk, a Honda or a
Scooter.

Do not miss
Lan Ong str, the best place to buy
bottles of snake, sea-horse, or cobra wine, supposedly
great remedies for all sorts of deficiencies, especially
male… Hanoians comes here to buy traditional medicine,
“ruou dan toc”, other herbs and plants.

Hang Ma plays an important part in Hanoians’ life, as it supplies
paper products such as gift wrappings, wedding
decorations and miniature paper objects to burn for the
dead.

Ly Nam De is where to go for computers, laptop and components.

Tong Duy
Tan is the best place to end up your shopping spree. Late eaters
love this alley which serves hot pot, chicken stewed
with oriental herbal medicine, Pho and other Hanoi
specialties.
